This is about responsible-college-student stupidity.

5:10pm
Right now I'm sitting in a class I'm not enrolled in.

Yes, this is the kind of crazy college recklessness I'm getting into.

This is about that black guy who loves QOTSA…and interracial dating.

My friends and family have teased me saying "Watch - you'll end up with a white man."

Despite knowing my anxiety-borderline-fear of dealing with all the pitfalls of interracial dating (opposition, ignorance, festishism, discrimination, just to name a few), they say this more because of my tastes.

This is about BEYONCÈ Part 2.

Yoncè, don't give me that look.
Beyoncè.

I understand that I am just another bee in the hive, but does your team not even care that I'm a full time student?

My holiday break only lasts so long. Spring break is just one week. I plan on continuing to work on campus and take classes over the summer.

This is about BEYONCÈ Part 1.

Beyoncè.

A lot has happened to me over the course of just a few days. I started a whole new chapter in my life. I'm pretty sure I lost the feeling in my left big toe forever. My ears keep hearing the same melodies and my brain keeps churning the same words.

All the hype around this album

This is my expression of feelings via haiku.

If you follow me on Twitter (you don't? but whyyyyy?) you know how much I love haikus. This 5-7-5 syllable poem is easy and fun. So I decided to express some of my current feelings via the haiku.

This is my haiku about summer concerts. LOOK AT IT!

This is about the abyss that is college.

Real Talk
First, I apologize for not posting a written blog post in a good minute. Y'all need to read more.
Second, I apologize if my written posts aren't as exciting as my videos, however these written words help me practice the writing skills that I will need to earn my degree and I hate editing videos because it takes too freakin long and I get sick of looking at my stupid face.

I always tell myself to put on some makeup or something but then I don't because no.

What I'd like to discuss today is a topic inspired by the many depressing conversations I've had with my fellow class of 2012 friends.

This is about my first day of class. This is Part II.

I wouldn't call my life awkward. Not that the word doesn't fit, but I feel it's so overused.
To me, awkward is applied to the small things that have a big enough emotional effect to make me feel uncomfortable for an extended amount of time.
Like MTV's "Awkward.". I love the show, but accidentally announcing that you want to have sex with your boyfriend through the PA system isn't awkward, it's devastating.
That being clarified let me narrate my overanalyzed experience to my first ever class in the Loop, traveling solo.

This is about my first day of class. This is Part I.

It dawned on me while I was doctoring up my coffee at Starbucks at exactly 9:26am.
I was upset that the half&half was empty, but thankfully the nonfat milk hadn't run out yet. Unfortunately the kid next to me was unlucky enough to knock his drink a bit sending about 1/3 of the contents all over the counter. I was about to laugh to ease his embarrassment*, but quickly shut my mouth.
He was one of those people. You know, the super serious ones that curse life when they trip on an uneven sidewalk, make a freudian slip, or knock over their own coffee.
*Okay, maybe laughing would make you more embarrassed, but it makes me feel better. I'm not afraid to laugh at myself so I want someone else to do so too.
Napkins were seized, quickly ran over the spill, and he sharply left out the doors.
Then the thought really occurred to me how alone I was on my first day of class.

This is college.

Yeah Stitch is with me, so?!
My dorm room is all organized and now has that perfect lived-in-mess that makes it feel like home.
My roommates are cool and vary in range on the party scale so we balance each other out.
There's at least one party going on somewhere on campus.
And my last paycheck will be mailed in signaling my soon-to-be-brokeness.
I'm a college student.
So, how is the Nebraska native faring in the streets of Chicago?
